Sarita co-founded the DIY PhD in 2014, published her Dissertation, Textbook for the Ecocene with Co-Conspirator Press in 2020, and founded School for the Ecocene to support multi-passionate Earthworkers of all backgrounds in creating their own deeper and higher education.

Salmon Home: Waterways Repair and Winnemem Wintu Cosmovision of Care, 2023, created in collaboration with Chief Caleen Sisk’s son, Michael “Pom” Preston and educator Nichelle Garcia, natural pigment and gouache on wooden panel, 36 x 48 inches.

She paints natural pigment story-maps in collaboration with environmental justice movements, Indigenous tribes, and other Earth-based communities to illustrate examples of habitat remediation, land back, and collective regeneration.
